Welcome to the official start of Fall! With the school year in full swing, the PTA has been hard at work ramping up new and returning programs for the Franklin community. Take a moment to read about the various ways you can get connected this month. You can also Follow us on Facebook to get the latest news.

Upcoming Programs and Events
Popcorn  Friday on October 2nd. Students will find a bag of microwave popcorn in their supply bags so they can join in a school-wide Popcorn Friday event on Friday October 2nd. Snap a photo of your student enjoying their popcorn and send it to, and we'll share the photos on our website. 


Virtual Enrichment Classes are now open for registration. Franklin Elementary has partnered with 6crickets to curate
specialized virtual classes from quality providers throughout the nation on a variety of topics including engineering, robotics, debate, math, fitness, dance, music, entrepreneurship, science, theatre, and world languages.  Some trial classes begin on Monday, October 5th, so don’t delay. Ebooks are now available from the school library using the Sora app. Click here to access the app on your smartphone or computer! If you have any questions, contact 


The Math Challenge is on! There will be 15 sets of challenges provided throughout the school year to help students strengthen math fundamentals as well as grow critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students who complete at least 12 challenges will be recognized at the end of the school year. The first set is due on October 8th. This program is free and does not require registration. The Franklin PTA is proud to partner with BookTree bookstore in Kirkland to help Franklin families buy
books for their students! The PTA has set up a fund with BookTree so that our families can purchase books from a house account and at a slight discount. If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity or are interested in contributing to the fund please contact for more information.

To help connect our families, the PTA is collecting contact information for any Facebook and WhatsApp groups that have been set up for individual classes at Franklin. If you have made a group, please email the details (name of the group, link to join, contact person, etc) to so we can share these with families looking to connect.


Help wanted: The PTA is looking for someone to look after our Reader Board (the notice board at the front of the school). This is an easy but essential role. Time commitment is half an hour, one to two times a month, and training will be provided. Contact Emily at if you're interested in volunteering.

Last call for yearbooks. If you did not purchase a yearbook, but would like one, we have extras. The purchase price is $15. Please write a check to Ben Franklin PTA. If you have not collected your yearbook yet, please email to arrange pick-up.

You can still Join the PTA. Stay informed and vote on financial direction! Annual membership is $15 Individual (1 member) or $25 Family (2 members).
