Welcome Back Franklin Eagles!

We are excited to welcome all new and returning families to Ben Franklin for the 2023-2024 school year! The Ben Franklin PTA has been working hard behind-the-scenes to prepare for a great year for all students, staff, and the Franklin community. We're so glad you're here and look forward to meeting you!

The Ben Franklin PTA is looking forward to continuing to support the Franklin community this year. We have many ways that you can get involved - join the PTA, volunteer your time, donate funds, and sign up for our mailing list and Facebook page to stay informed about what the PTA is up to and opportunities for you to get involved.

The Ninja Warrior fundraiser is back! This is our one and only fundraiser of the year. Your generous donations will help fund:

Grants for intervention in reading and math for at-risk students

Staff training and continuing education

Staff appreciation

Campus improvements big and small

Community events

Classroom supplies

PE equipment

Library supplies

Art enrichment

And much more!

All students have received a donation envelope which can be used to collect donations made via cash and check. It is very important that all envelopes, even if empty, are returned to school by October 4th.

Every student will have a chance to participate in the Ninja Warrior obstacle course on October 4th. It is such a fun all-school event, and it would not be possible without the help of adult volunteers! Come support the Franklin community and cheer on your students! SIGN UP HERE

Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that helps students explore their own thoughts, feelings, and ideas, develop artistic literacy, increase confidence, and find a love for learning that will help them become more successful not only in school but in life.

Students in pre-K through grade 12 are invited to create original works of art in response to this year's theme: “I am Hopeful Because…" All entries will go through a judging process at Ben Franklin Elementary, with the potential to advance to the Council, State, and National levels.

All entries are due to the school by November 1st.

Ben Franklin PTA Anti-Racism Statement

The Ben Franklin PTA echoes the work of the Lake Washington PTSA to stand in solidarity with our families of Asian descent against the recent rising tide of anti-Asian racism and violence. We stand in solidarity with our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) families and students against the rise in attacks, crimes, and rhetoric against BIPOC communities in our country.

Ben Franklin Elementary PTA will actively support anti-racist policies, programs, and practices to build strong and inclusive communities. We commit to taking a conscious and active role in dismantling systemic and institutional racism by raising awareness through education and advocacy, working with school staff and outside organizations, and supporting our community so that all children feel safe and welcome. [Adapted from the LWPTSA Council Anti-Racism Statement]

The Franklin PTA is looking for a Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Chair for the 2021-22 school year. Please contact Emily at president@mybenfranklinpta.org if you are interested in this role. You will not be on your own, you will be able to join a group of FACE chairs from across our school district, to learn from each other and share ideas.
