The Franklin PTA Welcomes You
We need your help!
Do you want to get more involved in your kids' school, work to enhance the educational experience of all our students, and make new friends in the process? If so, we want to hear from you! We currently have an open position on the PTA board for a VP of After-School Enrichment. This role can be shared and no prior experience is necessary. We were all new to the board at one point, and are happy to help you find your feet!
The VP of After-School Enrichment may or may not have a big role to play this year, depending on whether we get the go-ahead to organize after-school activities. If we do, you will be working with 6Crickets to identify vendors to provide classes for our students.
*** If you're interested in volunteering in this role, please email Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org.*** We'd love for you to join us!

2021 - 2022 PTA Chair Positions Available
The PTA is looking for people to chair events and activities next year. PTA activities are all volunteer-led, and if we can't find enough volunteers, some of your favorite activities may not run. These are not board positions so no meetings ;) You can work on them in your own time, with a friend/s to share the workload, and we can connect you with people who've done the role in the past for guidance. If any of these sound interesting, please reach out to email@example.com to get more information:
- STEM Symposium
- Enrichment clubs (chess, lego, etc)
- Emergency preparation
- Running club
- Family And Community Engagement (FACE)
Ben Franklin PTA Anti-Racism Statement
The Ben Franklin PTA echoes the work of the Lake Washington PTSA to stand in solidarity with our families of Asian descent against the recent rising tide of anti-Asian racism and violence. We stand in solidarity with our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) families and students against the rise in attacks, crimes, and rhetoric against BIPOC communities in our country.
Ben Franklin Elementary PTA will actively support anti-racist policies, programs, and practices to build strong and inclusive communities. We commit to taking a conscious and active role in dismantling systemic and institutional racism by raising awareness through education and advocacy, working with school staff and outside organizations, and supporting our community so that all children feel safe and welcome. [Adapted from the LWPTSA Council Anti-Racism Statement]
The Franklin PTA is looking for a Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Chair for the 2021-22 school year. Please contact Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in this role. You will not be on your own, you will be able to join a group of FACE chairs from across our school district, to learn from each other and share ideas.
