Ben Franklin PTA Anti-Racism Statement

The Ben Franklin PTA echoes the work of the Lake Washington PTSA to stand in solidarity with our families of Asian descent against the recent rising tide of anti-Asian racism and violence. We stand in solidarity with our Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) families and students against the rise in attacks, crimes, and rhetoric against BIPOC communities in our country.

Ben Franklin Elementary PTA will actively support anti-racist policies, programs, and practices to build strong and inclusive communities. We commit to taking a conscious and active role in dismantling systemic and institutional racism by raising awareness through education and advocacy, working with school staff and outside organizations, and supporting our community so that all children feel safe and welcome. [Adapted from the LWPTSA Council Anti-Racism Statement]

The Franklin PTA is looking for a Family and Community Engagement (FACE) Chair for the 2021-22 school year. Please contact Emily at if you are interested in this role. You will not be on your own, you will be able to join a group of FACE chairs from across our school district, to learn from each other and share ideas.
