Reflections Art Competition 2026-2027

Theme: "What My Culture Means to Me" — a National PTA arts competition. Submissions are due Friday, November 6, 2026.

Important details

• You will need to turn in your artwork AND a student entry form to your teacher.
• Your artwork CANNOT have your name on the public facing side of your artwork. Please write it on the back.

Categories

A student may submit an entry in any of six categories:

• Literature — Works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.
• Music Composition — Original musical composition, with or without words. Notation/score is required for music composition. File must be in MP3 or WAV (NOT MP4).
• Photography — Color or black and white, included techniques: photogram, negative sandwich, and multiple exposure. Check quality and sizing minimums: 640x960 pixels and 300dpi resolution.
• Visual Arts — Drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & computer generated art, two-dimensional collage & mixed media, printmaking. LWPTSA council is not accepting 3D art. Please no stretched canvas more than ¾ in. and please no framed art. Check quality and sizing minimums: 640x960 pixels and 300dpi resolution.
• Film/Video — Original works, with or without sound, of animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film. Must not exceed 5min in length and 1,000 MB in file size in MP4, MOV or AVI format.
• Choreography/Dance — Originally choreographed dance composition. Must not exceed 5min in length and 1,000 MB in file size in MP4, MOV or AVI format.

Accessible Arts

For artists needing accommodations to participate, the Accessible Arts Division is an option for students with a disability as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
