Recruiting Begins for 2011-2012 Academic Year

Let’s start a dialog between the PTA and Franklin Parents.  You could call it a recruiting campaign—but we prefer to think of it as a ‘community conversation’.  We’d like to find out what your interest in, what you love to do, what might be holding you back from participating or what you’d like to learn about.  Over the next few weeks look for short articles here on topics like:  “Healthy Boards—what do they look like, and do we have one?”  “Volunteering:  A Resume Builder?” “Roles, Projects & Tasks You Can Be a Part Of”.  “Being Part of any Change You’d Like to See”.   “Close-Knit Boards:  Cliques or Colleagues?”

The bottom-line is that not only does Ben Franklin *want YOU* to be a part of our volunteer community; but, Franklin students and parents *need YOU* to be involved in whatever way you can.  Between now and March 28^th, when our slate of candidates for next year’s PTA will be proposed, we will be contacting you.  We will reach out personally to as many of you as we can.  However, if you could anticipate things a bit and reach out to us first—all the better. 

Colette Ulloa (collette_ulloa@msn.com) and Frida Kumar (frida@kumarzone.com) are excited to head up this process.  If we call or email, please be open to having a dialog about your interests, talents and your inclinations.  Not only do we have specific open positions on the Board and as Committee Chairs, we are open to ideas about how to leverage your talents and passions.  We can and want to foster project-management from home.  We look forward to speaking with you.
