Northwest pioneers in the early nineteenth-century used the Oregon Trail, a historic east-west wagon route that was the oldest of the northern commercial trails. In this session, we will capture images from the Oregon Trail and envision what life was like for the pioneers who used it. We will paint and draw the wagons, the mountain trails and the natural landscape. We will then cover the first settlements: the pioneer’s log houses, gardens, clothes and everyday tools. We will combine techniques of space composition light and shadow, one-point perspective, two-point perspective and creating depth and 3D. We will use pencils, charcoals, soft pastels, oil pastels, watercolor, acrylic, clay, and foil. To register: call Rachel Muller at (425) 823-1178 or send email to rachel@rachel-art.com to confirm space. Please be sure to provide your school name. Then fill out and detach the registration form below, attach a check of $165 payable to Ben Franklin PTA, and send the form into school or bring the registration form and payment with you to the first class.
