How to Catch a Fish

Mr. Frank, who is one of our 5/6 Quest teachers will be signing copies of his new book for children, How to Catch a Fish, on Saturday, December 1^st from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., and on Saturday, December 8^th from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Parkplace Books, located at 348 Parkplace Center in Kirkland. I hope you will make time to pick up a copy. The latest book is fantastic!

Holiday Concert

Our school choir will perform on Thursday, December 6^th at 7:00 p.m. in our school Commons. Please plan to join us for a holiday celebration and to support our students. They have been working very hard. They will also perform at Redmond Town Center on Monday, December 3^rd at 6:00 p.m.

Holiday Vacation

Our holiday vacation will begin on Wednesday, December 19^th. Students will return to school on Wednesday, January 2^nd, 2008. Wednesday will be an early release at 2:00 p.m. like all other Wednesdays.

Health Screenings

Students in K-6 will have a health screening on Friday, December 7^th. Screening includes vision and hearing testing for everyone, with scoliosis for 5^th grade only.

Seattle Marathon

For the past several weeks, about 76 students (30 more than last year) finished the marathon at school. They ran in rain, wind, mud and very cold weather. This could not have happened without the support of several parents who braved the elements to monitor and stamp the runners as they did laps around the play field. The following students ran the Seattle Marathon on Saturday, November 24^th:

Daichi Tamai, Anna Williams, Nick Ludwig, Sean Gordon, Levy Menn, Liam Cowin, Toomas Tennisberg, Andrew Vincent, Tommy Quiere, Francis Nyugen, Mitchell Jensen, Rosalyn Leban, Sarah Flannery, Caroline Hoskins, Claire Whiteside, Jerith Charleson-Sterritt, Matthew Maffeo, Rebecca Liu, Andrea Hjaltadottir, Grace Burt, Natalie Peterson, Leina McDermott, Jonah Joughin, Ellie Shaw, Kyle Mangione-Smith, Kate Kloba, Andrew Burt, Max Petersen, Brad Aarnio, Muyi Zhang, Emma Shipman, Morgan Gilbert, Noah Charleston-Sterritt, Jem Thrasher, Ava Ludwig, Kelsey Chen, Pavel Braginsky, Camille Ulloa, Gina Kumar, Kaci Gordon, Maya Ulloa, Zubin Parida, Logan Ellard, Emma Odell, Molly Odell, Tess Pate, and JR Hentges. Two teachers also ran with the students, Ms. Miller and Ms. Clemons while Ms. Denney cheered them all on to the finish line.
Congratulations to all the runners and thank you to all the volunteers and Ms. Denney.
